Seed Subscription Information & FAQ

Welcome to Bird Buddy's new Seed Subscription! 🌱🐦

We're thrilled to start offering premium bird food subscriptions (or one-time purchases) for our US customers, ensuring your feathered visitors always have the nourishment they need. Below you'll find all the information you need to get started and make the most of our services.

Getting Started with Your Bird Buddy Customer Account

  • When you place your first subscription order, an account will be created automatically. Later, you can set the password and manage your subscription.

  • Update personal details like passwords, shipping, and payment information by clicking the link that takes you to your account in the order confirmation screen, or access it by clicking on the link in the confirmation email.

  • Modify your shipping address and payment method  (7 days before the subscription is renewed you will get notified so you can change any details)

  • Postpone or cancel your subscription up to 48 hours before shipping (postponements are possible for 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, or a whole month)

  • Please note that these order-editing options are not available if you make a one-time purchase

Choose from the following options tailored to your needs:

  • One-time purchase (all mixtures except Seasonal Curation)
  • Subscription: Monthly, once every two months, or once every three months
  • Sizes: 8lbs or 20lbs.

Our Signature Seed Mixtures

We offer all packages in two convenient sizes: 20lb bags or 8lb bags

For the Buddy Bites blend:

  • Ingredients: 40% Black Oil Sunflower, 30% Sunflower Hearts, 20% Safflower, 10% Roasted Peanuts.
  • Who is it for?: This blend is designed to attract a variety of birds such as Jays, Woodpeckers, and Finches.

For the Avian Choice blend:

  • Ingredients: 50% Black Oil Sunflower, 30% Sunflower Hearts, with the rest being Roasted Peanuts, Cracked Corn, Millet, Wheat, and Oats each at less than 5%.
  • Who is it for?: This blend is tailored to attract Buntings, Doves, and Juncos among others.

For the Snack N’ Soar blend:

  • Ingredients: It's a single-ingredient blend with 100% Black Oil Sunflower.
  • Who is it for?: This is a favorite for Cardinals, Finches, and Titmice.

Seasonal Curation: 

  • Subscription-based only
  • We'll send a mixture based on the season that will keep your backyard visitors happy.

Editing Your Subscription and Cancellation Policy

  • Update subscriptions, including shipment delays (1-4 weeks) or cancellations, through your BirdBuddy store account.
  • Changes must be made at least 48 hours before your next scheduled shipment.
  • Late changes, after the 48-hour window, will not be processed, and refunds cannot be issued.
  • We do not accept returns for any canceled orders that have shipped already
  • If your seeds are compromised or have quality issues, contact us for a potential refund or replacement, pending our review process.
  • Should your order be lost in shipping, please get in touch with us for support.
  • If you manually cancel your Seed Subscription while you have an upcoming order of Seeds still pending, the cancellation process does not immediately set the subscription status to "Canceled", but shows instead as “Pending cancellation”. You will receive any pending orders from your current subscription period; however, the subscription's status will only be transitioned to Canceled on the next renewal date of your Seed Subscription and you will no longer be charged for or receive any future orders from that Subscription. 

Managing Your Subscription (FAQ)

Do I need an account to purchase seeds?

  • For subscription orders, an account is required to manage deliveries and payments. The account will be created for you automatically (or you can create one manually before placing the order by clicking the avatar icon in the upper right corner of the header.). One-time purchases do not require an account.

How do I create an account?

  • An account will be automatically created when you subscribe for seed delivery. You'll provide your email and a shipping address during checkout, and a password will be set for you. After your first purchase, you'll get a confirmation email to finalize your account setup, allowing you to manage your account and subscription details.

When will my order ship?

  • Orders are shipped within 2 business days, though transit times across the country vary.

How do I manage my subscription details?

  • To manage your subscription, go to our website, and log in at the top right corner.

  • Navigate to the 'My Subscription' section on your account dashboard.  Here you can change your address or payment method, postpone your subscription, or cancel it.

    Please note, that to postpone a shipment, do it at least 48 hours before the next scheduled renewal date.

How do I change my subscription shipping address?

  • Within 'My Subscription', click on 'Change address' to update your shipping details for the subscription.

How do I update my subscription payment method?

  • In the 'My Subscription' area, select 'Change payment' to enter a new payment method for your subscription.

Can I update my account details?

  • Yes, you can change your password, email, and other account details by accessing the 'Account details' section after logging in.

Can I postpone my subscription shipment?

  • Yes, go to 'My Subscription' and select 'Postpone Subscription' to delay your shipment for 1-4 weeks. This must be done 48 hours before your next payment date.

My package is lost in transit, what should I do?

  • If the tracking for your package is unclear, please contact our support team.

What is the refund policy for seeds and seed subscriptions?

  • We do not provide refunds for any seed or seed subscription orders once they are processed and/or shipped. You can cancel the subscription on your own in the portal up to 48 hours before it is sent.  However, if your seeds arrive damaged or with defects such as mold, please contact us immediately for assistance with a possible exception.

How can I cancel my seed subscription?

  • To cancel your seed subscription without being charged for the next shipment, you must initiate the cancellation through your Bird Buddy web store account at least 48 hours before the scheduled shipment.

Can I return my seed order for a refund?

  • Returns and refunds are not available for seed orders or subscriptions after fulfillment, except in cases where the product arrives defective or damaged. In such instances, please reach out to us for resolution.

What changes can I make to my seed subscription?

  • You may make adjustments, such as subscription cancellations, payment method updates, and changes to your shipping or billing information through your account. Please make these changes at least 48 hours before your next order's scheduled shipment to ensure they are applied.

What if I miss the deadline for subscription changes?

  • It's critical to complete any modifications or cancellations at least 48 hours before your next shipment is due. Changes made after this deadline cannot be processed, and refunds will not be issued.

What should I do if my seeds are defective upon arrival?

  • If you receive seeds that are defective, such as those showing signs of mold or damage, contact us straight away. We treat such cases as exceptions and will work with you to resolve the issue promptly.
