Like all apps that are offered on Apple Store and Google Play, the Bird Buddy app is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation in the EU and other similar legal provisions in the US and worldwide. When developing app features, maximum privacy for the user is always a top concern. This is why we decided to collect as little data about users as possible. To increase security, all the data transfers within the app take advantage of end-to-end encryption. This prevents third parties from accessing data while it's transferred from one end system or device to another. This way the data is encrypted on the sender's system or device, and only the intended recipient can retrieve the message.
The Bird Buddy app will require the following permissions on your device:
- Location: For users with devices running on iOS, sharing your location with us within the app is voluntary and you can make it as specific as you want: for example, you can only reveal your continent (for the sake of helping out our AI).
- Bluetooth: Necessary for pairing your device with Bird Buddy.
- Gallery: When you download your first photo from the app, you will be requested to give permission to the gallery on your device
Once Bird Buddy's camera takes the footage, it is stored in our cloud service.
For all the photos taken by Bird Buddy’s camera module, we have a worldwide license to use them for machine learning purposes. However, we are not allowed to otherwise see or share your private photos.
Users shouldn’t monetize any Bird Buddy content except if they have explicit permission from Bird Buddy
You have complete control over the recorded footage. For every picture you take, you get to decide whether you'd prefer to keep it private or if you'd like to share it with the Bird Buddy community.
Bird Buddy has a license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, monetize, list information regarding, edit, translate, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display and make derivative works of and otherwise exploit all photos that you decide to share with the community.
