Notification settings

  • Updated

We want your Bird Buddy experience to be tailored to your preferences. It’s understandable that you’d want to receive fewer notifications sometimes, or that you really need to turn them off entirely during a meeting or an episode of your favorite TV show. You can tailor your own settings from within the app!

Disabling global notifications

Sometimes we all just need a break from all notifications. We totally understand! You can turn all Bird Buddy push notifications off and on at will in the Bird Buddy app. Please note that this will disable all notifications from Bird Buddy, but you can still find all of the activities you missed in the Feed section of the Bird Buddy app.

Here is how you can turn off your notifications:

  1. Open Settings in the app (mceclip0.png).
  2.  Select "Application settings" and then click on "Notifications".
  3. Select the duration of your desired time off. You can turn notifications off for 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day, or 1 week.
  4. A pop-up should appear informing you when your notifications will turn back on. Enjoy your break!

Can’t keep away? You can turn on your notifications back at any time by simply going back and selecting “Turn notifications back ON” either in the Application settings or in the Feed section of the app.

Feeder specific notifications

You are also able to adjust notifications for each individual Bird Buddy you own. The only notification we don’t allow you to turn on or off is the “Cleaning reminder” notification since a regular cleaning routine for your Bird Buddy helps keep the birds safe and prevents the spread of diseases

The “Low battery” notification setting

This setting turns the Low battery notification on or off. If it’s set to “on”, the slider icon next to the setting name is colored green. Enabling this notification allows the Bird Buddy app to let you know when the battery on that particular feeder is running low and it’s time to recharge it. We don’t want you to miss out on any of the action, so we recommend you keep this notification active.
