Our current estimates show that our customers should start receiving their orders in early October, depending on the platform they placed their order on; we will be fulfilling the orders in chronological order (the Kickstarter orders being fulfilled first, followed by Indiegogo ones, and then the ones placed on our website)

Since we have a large backlog of orders, predicting individual shipping dates is difficult, but we finally have a more specific shipping timeline in place.

As of August 26th, the V1 release candidate of the product is finished and ready for the final QA checks. We have also drafted our fulfillment timeline and are in the process of finalizing the dates with our partners we will be ready to share the specifics along with a visual representation of the roll-out (and delivery ramp-up) plan soon.

However, there is no way to reliably test the real-world scalability of our systems; before we start fulfilling thousands of orders per day, we will first have a gradual ramp-up period of deliveries in the first half of September to ensure everything is working as expected and resolve any significant issues. 

 

All Kickstarter and Indiegogo orders are set to ship by the first week of November. The pre-orders placed on our website are all set to ship by the end of November, depending on your order number. 

As a crowdfunded project, Bird Buddy was initially scheduled for a fall 2021 roll-out. Our Kickstarter backers were originally supposed to receive their orders in September, everyone who backed our Indiegogo campaign was supposed to get theirs in October, and the pre-orders that were placed through our web store were originally supposed to ship in November 2021. 

The Covid-19 pandemic brought on a whole host of unprecedented challenges, which unfortunately made it impossible to fulfill the orders by the end of 2021. You can find our progress timeline here.

Most recently, we managed to reach the stage where we mass-produced the first units after a delay with firmware testing processes held us back from doing so. We started with a small scale production run first, to test the manufacturing process itself, along with logistics and necessary automations.

We promise you this - as soon as your Bird Buddy is ready to be dispatched from our warehouse, you will receive an email with the shipment date and all the tracking information. From that point forward, you will be able to track the package directly without having to get in touch with us for an update.
