Welcome! How can we help you today?

Feeder Settings

You can access the settings for your Birdbuddy feeder in the Cameras section of the app.

Press Cameras and click on the Settings button inside the display card of your feeder.
Note: You cannot access Feeder Settings for Birdbuddies you are added to as a guest.

Once in the feeder settings, you can:

Edit feeder name and location

To change the name or the location of your feeder, press the edit icon next to your feeder's name.

There, select what you'd like to change, either the name or the location, and save the changes.

Change the feeder type

If you have multiple housing types at home and want to swap your camera module between them, you can change the feeder type at any time:

  • Bird Feeder
  • Hummingbird Feeder
  • Bird Bath

Note: This is only possible with the Nature Cam (Pro) camera modules. The Birdbuddy 2 does not have this option.

Adjust the camera field of view

The camera field of view can be adjusted on the Nature Cam Pro camera module. If you are unsure which camera type you have, you can scroll down to the About section in the Feeder settings.
Alternatively, a camera module whose serial number begins with 11 indicates the Nature Cam Pro. For example: 11000001234.

Toggle audio recording

The Birdbuddy cameras can record audio in postcards. This setting is on by default, but you can turn it off if you would prefer the feeder not record any audio at all.

Note: The livestream does not record audio - whenever you livestream, you will not hear audio even with this setting turned on.

You can toggle audio in the feeder settings by pressing the toggle button.

Toggle off-grid mode

The off-grid mode puts your Birdbuddy on a break. The camera will remain online, but will not record any postcards or load the livestream. This is recommended when you want to preserve the battery or would like to stop receiving postcards for a while.

To toggle off-grid mode, press the toggle button in the "Go off-grid" section of your feeder settings.

Check the livestream

To check the livestream of your camera, press the "Check camera position" button. This button is available in the Cameras section for easier access, but can also be found in the feeder settings.

The About section

You can find information about your camera in the About section.

There, you can:

  • Check the camera type
  • Find and copy the serial number of your camera
  • See the firmware version and check for firmware updates
  • Remove the feeder
    • Note that this will remove the feeder from your account and requires you to perform a factory reset on the camera to reconnect it.
