Did you gift Birdbuddy to someone else, but Premium is still tied to your email? No problem — you can easily transfer it to their account.
Checklist before you start
- You have bought your membership through our Birdbuddy website (not Apple/Google).
- The person you’re transferring to already has a Birdbuddy app account.
- If the recipient used Apple’s “Hide My Email” feature on their app account, they’ll need to find their 'hidden' email in the app under Settings > Account Settings and send it to you.
- Only one user at a time can have access to the membership. Which means your access will be revoked after the transfer.
Change Ownership Email Address
1. Log in to your Birdbuddy web account
- Go to Your Account Dashboard. Use the same email you used when purchasing.
2. Access Your Membership Details
- Click the “Memberships” tab.
- Select your Birdbuddy Premium plan.
3. Check Current Ownership Email

If a user is already linked, the email address will be displayed in the membership details.
If the Premium membership is not yet linked to any Birdbuddy app user, you’ll see the User not linked yet text with an option to add an ownership email:
4. Change the Ownership Email
- Click the Set Premium User or Change button.
- A window will appear where you can enter the new email address.
- Input the email address for the new owner who already has a Birdbuddy App account.
- Confirm the change.
5. Wait for the Change to Take Effect
It may take a few hours for the switch to complete. Once it does:
- The new user gets access to Premium.
- Your access will be automatically revoked.
