Battery issues
If the camera is not responding (no sound, no LED light when placed in the feeder), charge the battery insert for 4 hours.
Ensure you use a reputable USB-C cable. Try different cables as well as charging sources.
After the charging period, take the camera module out and place it back in.
If there is still no chirp or LED light, please reach out to support by starting a chat.
Bluetooth pairing issues
The Birdbuddy 2 camera will connect to Bluetooth in the Birdbuddy app automatically; no pairing request will appear on your screen.
If the camera did not blink before you begin the Bluetooth pairing process, take it out of the feeder and reinsert it. Once inserted, you'll hear a chirp and see a green LED.
The camera should factory reset automatically, so press Continue or Connect, depending on which screen you are.
If the issue persists even after multiple tries, the battery might be discharged. Open the back door and plug the battery pack to access the USB-C charging port.
You'll see an LED indicating the battery charging progress (red = low, orange = medium, green = fully charged).
After 30 minutes, reinsert the camera into the feeder and try the pairing process again.
If the issue persists, exit the pairing process by pressing X in the top right corner, select "Exit anyway", charge the battery insert fully (for 3-4 hours), and restart the process.
Once the Birdbuddy is connected to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth is not needed anymore, so it will disconnect.
Wi-Fi pairing issues
The Birdbuddy 2 is compatible with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
If the Wi-Fi network does not show up on the list of available networks or is not selected automatically, try refreshing the list. Check that your network is not hidden in your router/network settings.
If the Wi-Fi password is not accepted, first check that the correct Wi-Fi network was selected (if you did not manually choose one).
You can go back to Wi-Fi network selection by pressing the arrow in the top left corner, or pressing "Select another Wi-Fi" above the Connect button.
Then, try copying and pasting the Wi-Fi password from your iPhone's Wi-Fi settings or your router settings (if on Android). Press the Connect button multiple times if you are certain the password is correct.
If the password is still not accepted, please check if the password security type is set to WPA2 (WPA3 is not supported).
If the Wi-Fi connection process starts, but fails after a couple of minutes, please try again from the beginning.
If any of the issues persist, please reach out to support by starting a chat. Please provide any information about your network setup that you have available, especially the name of your internet provider and the brand and model of your router.
Offline
If your Birdbuddy is offline, please remove the camera from the feeder and reinsert it.
You should see a green LED and hear a chirping sound.
If you do not, the issue could originate from the battery.
Charge the battery insert for 4 hours.
Afterward, please reinsert the camera module.
