1. Setting the Base
Start by inserting the Center Ground Stake into the ground using a rubber mallet. The thin part should be entirely below ground level and the stake should be straight—at a 90° angle to the surface.
Next, slide the Lower Double Stake over the Center Ground Stake. Add the second Double Stake perpendicularly, forming a cross shape. Use the rubber mallet to secure all four ground stakes by tapping them in alternation to keep everything level.
Tools Required:
-
Rubber mallet
-
Phillips head screwdriver
2. Assembling Pole Segments
Begin by inserting the wide end of the first Pole Segment into the Center Ground Stake. Continue connecting the remaining segments, making sure the metal pins snap securely into the holes.
If you'll be using the Pollinator Pot: Slide the first Pole Segment down until it rests on the ground. If it's hovering above the ground, push the Ground Stakes deeper. Keep in mind that these are still in production and will be delivered to you at a later time this spring if you are a Kickstarter backer.
3. Extension Arm Mounting
Slide the Extension Arm over the pole and tighten the knob until it’s secured. This arm is compatible with all Bird Buddy products that use the Universal Mount.
4. Squirrel Baffle Installation
To be effective, the Squirrel Baffle should be placed at least 5 ft (150 cm) above the ground.
-
Slide the Baffle Mount over a Pole Segment and tighten the knob.
-
Then, slide the Baffle down over the pole until it rests snugly on the Baffle Mount ridge
5. Branch Installation
Insert the wooden branch into the Branch Connector. Align the parts so that the threaded insert is visible through the hole and secure it using a Phillips screwdriver. Once assembled, slide the branch over the pole until it clicks into place. Complete the setup by placing the Pole Topper onto the very top of the assembled pole system.
