All Nature Cam (Pro) housing types (Bird Feeder, Hummingbird Feeder, and Bird Bath) contain a circular magnet inside the housing. The camera module also has a matching magnet located beneath its plastic casing.
When the camera is inserted into the housing, the two magnets connect, and your Birdbuddy app changes the camera status to "Ready for birds." This indicates that the camera is properly installed and ready to capture postcards from your feathered visitors.
If your Nature Cam (Pro) camera reports as "out of feeder" in the app, this can indicate two things:
Inspect the magnet
Remove the camera module from the housing and check whether the circular magnet is present in the camera slot.
The magnet looks the same in all Nature Cam (Pro) housing types.
If the magnet is missing, you've found the cause of the issue. Please contact our Support team via chat and request a replacement magnet. We'll send one to you as soon as possible.
If the magnet is present, follow the steps below.
Refresh the connection
If the magnet is present, the "Out of feeder" message is most likely caused by the app displaying outdated status information.
To refresh the connection:
- Remove the camera from the housing.
- Wait for one minute. There's no need to press the camera's button.
- Reinsert the camera into the housing.
- Open the Birdbuddy app and go to the Cameras section.
- Pull down to refresh the page.
After the app refreshes, the camera status should update to "Ready for birds." If it still shows "Out of feeder," please contact our Support team via chat, and we'll be happy to help.
