Welcome! How can we help you today?

My Bird Buddy is Offline

If your Bird Buddy reports that it is offline, this means the camera module is no longer communicating with your internet access point or that it lost the connection temporarily. You can try swiping down on the settings screen a few times to refresh the feeder status to see if it's reconnected.

If your Bird Buddy is still offline after some time, please try power cycling your router and camera module to re-establish the connection. To turn your camera module OFF and ON, follow these steps:

  1. Turn the device off first. Press the button for 2 seconds (until you see a solid red light, after that, you can release the button).
  2. Wait for at least a minute, and please reboot your router during this time as well.
  3. Press the button for 1 second to turn it back on (LED turns solid green for 3 seconds).

If this doesn't help, we recommend that you pair your unit again:

  1. Fully charge the camera module (2-4 hours).
  2. Open the Settings (Screenshot_1.png) section of the app and open your feeder’s settings by clicking on its name.
  3. Scroll down and click “Remove feeder” and confirm your decision on the confirmation pop-up.
  4. Remove the camera module from the list of Bluetooth devices on your phone (first, check if it has already appeared there as BUDDY; in case it’s not listed there yet, you can skip this step.)

  5. Perform a factory reset by pressing and holding the button on your device. You’ll first see a solid red light, which will then start blinking. Keep holding the button until you see a solid red light again. When you do, release the button. Please note that if you keep holding the button after the solid red light appears, the factory reset may fail. You can also take a look at our video instructions on how to perform a factory reset here.
  6. Return back to the app and confirm feeder removal by tapping “All done”.
  7. Delete the app. Please note that it’s not enough to delete the app from your desktop, you have to completely delete it from your account to clear the cache as well.

  8. Restart your phone
  9. Go into a semi-dark room (or enclose the area above the button with your hand), and wait for the blue led light to turn on. If you see the blue light, reopen the app and start from the beginning.
  10. Reinstall the app and then open it and click on “Add a Bird Buddy”. Now you can begin the pairing process once again from the beginning (you should see a blinking blue LED signal after the reset that indicates the module is ready to start the pairing flow again).
