Key differences between the feeders
- The Birdbuddy Home has an integrated solar roof with two solar panels, while the Birdbuddy Nook comes in two versions: Birdbuddy Nook and Birdbuddy Nook Solar. The solar version has one detachable solar roof with one solar panel.
- The Birdbuddy Home supports 5 GHz Wi-Fi and can connect to 5 GHz-only networks. Birdbuddy Nook supports only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, so it can connect to 2.4 GHz-only and dual-band networks that broadcast both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. It cannot connect to networks that broadcast only 5 GHz.
- The Birdbuddy Home has an integrated speaker and microphone, while the Birdbuddy Nook only has a microphone. The Birdbuddy Home can therefore provide sound feedback when being inserted into the feeder (chirping), or when it is ready for pairing. Both cameras have an LED light which indicates when the camera is turned on, ready for pairing, etc. The full LED light guidance can be found here.
- The Birdbuddy Home's housing is larger, offering a bigger perch and more space in the seed compartment. Birdbuddy Nook is designed to be a compact feeder, thereby leaving less space for seeds.
- The Birdbuddy Home’s seed compartment can be accessed by opening the hatch on the back panel. To refill the Birdbuddy Nook, press the side buttons to open the roof and access the seed compartment.
