Once you or your Birdbuddy creates postcards of birds, squirrels, or other visitors, their profiles will appear under the Collection screen.
Read below for a detailed guide on how to use each Collection view.
Collected
This section contains the Visitors by name section, as well as Bird profiles in the form of albums, sectioned based on species.
If no postcards have been collected yet, this view will be empty.
This view can be filtered by pressing the filter icon in the top right corner:
- Newest first
- Oldest first
- Most visits first
- Least visits first
- A to Z
- Z to A
Whenever you save a species for the first time, the album will be marked as "New" and will always be at the top of the Collected view, until you open the album (the filters you select will not apply to albums marked as "New").
In the By name section, you can press on the named bird, and you'll see the species next to the name you chose for that bird. Albums will only appear here if you have an Individual or Family Premium Membership, and you saved any postcards where you named a bird visitor.
If you click on a bird species album, it will take you directly to its gallery, where you can learn more about the species, see how many times it visited, view photos shared by the community, set a cover photo for that bird profile, and view all the photos and videos of that species.
Clicking the back arrow will return you to the list view.
Nearby
Nearby is a beta feature that unlocks a list of birds most likely to visit your area. Currently only available in Chicago, IL. It shows birds detected and marked nearby by Birdbuddy users.
All birds
Explore the full list of species in our database — even those you haven’t spotted yet. Already collected birds are clearly marked with a checkmark.
All saved
By pressing the photos icon in the top right (next to the filter icon), you can see all saved media (photos and videos) in a grid format for easy browsing.
You can sort the profiles using the filters located in the upper right corner:
- Newest first
- Oldest first
- Show all
- Photos only
- Videos only
- All feeders
- My feeders only
- Guest feeders only
Next to the filter, there’s a Select button that enables bulk actions, allowing you to select multiple photos and videos at once. Alternatively, you can long-press on any specific bird profile to quickly enter select mode.
Note: If you encounter an error while downloading multiple images or videos, try downloading fewer files at a time to avoid the issue.
