Resetting and reconnecting your feeder after an unsuccessful firmware update

We only recommend this process if you continuously encounter an error when updating your firmware.

  1. On the error page, tap “Reset and reconnect your feeder”.
  2. The module of your feeder will be removed from your Bird Buddy account. No worries - you will not lose any of your existing photos or Collections by doing this.
  3. Fully charge the camera module (for a few hours).
  4. Remove the camera module from the list of Bluetooth devices on your phone (first, check if it has already appeared there as BUDDY; in case it's not listed there yet, you can skip this step.)

  5. Perform a factory reset by pressing and holding the button on your device. Follow the on-screen instructions in the app or this guide on how to perform a factory reset
  6. Wait for the blinking blue light.
  7. Now you can begin the pairing process once again from the beginning. Within the Bird Buddy app go to Settings, click on Add a Bird Buddy. Reconnect your device by following the on-screen instructions in the app or this pairing flow guide.
  8. If you encounter an issue during the pairing process at any point, get in touch with our support team and they will help you out.
